Conclusion:
Baking soda is more effective being an antacid because it relieved the indigestion the quickest and neutralized. We had the universal indicator to check what colour it would change into and then we saw that the indigestion tablet turned red and it was taking long to neutralize but when we did the same to the baking soda it turned green much faster. No, my results didn't match the prediction because I thought that indigestion tablets would be more effective but instead it's baking soda that is more effective. The errors that occurred during this experiment were that the drops weren't counted as accurately because sometimes it would go to fast and a lot of drops would come and we would only count one. We also got a bit confused at the start in measuring the tablets to be exact. So next time we will count accurately and measure the tablets correctly.
Readers Response:

You should use Baking soda obviously because it is more cheap as you know and it is a more effective antacid than indigestion tablets for relieving stomach acid. We carried out an investigation and we saw that baking soda was faster in reacting to stomach acid than indigestion tablets as we tested it in hydrochloric acid. When we tested it we saw that baking soda neutralized the stomach acid and the antacids still remained an acid an wasn't neutralizing as fast as the baking soda did. It will also be easier for you to get baking soda than chose one out of a huge variety for indigestion tablets and sometimes they could also have a side effect. When we dissolved the antacids in water and put it in hydrochloric acid it neutralized for baking soda. To make it a fair test over all we also had the same amount of everything so that we knew which one was exactly the best.

  1. Very nice work Mehul! You have backed up your opinion telling the reader about your experiment. Next time try to include what side effects baking soda might have. In my expirement for example baking soda neutralized HCL completely and obtained a PH of 7. This might affect the digestive system and leave you with water, salts and undigested food. But, in the end not every doctor gives you the same prescription. My findings and your findings might both be correct anyway. Otherwise your work is superb and great job!
